What we cover

In these workshops we will build motivation to change, identify triggers to emotional eating, gain clarity on the obstacles impeding short and long term change, and begin implementing structures to normalise eating patterns.

Included are:

  • Session 1 – Understanding my ‘why?’
  • Session 2 – Cycle of Change
  • Session 3 – Setting Goals

In these workshops, I’ll be explaining a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) framework to help you understand and begin to make sense of your current relationship with food. Worksheets are provided to help you reflect on your experiences.

  • Session 1 – Developing a formulation explaining your unique relationship with food, mood and body image
  • Session 2 – Understanding the importance and value of food group and how these serve to protect from a binge
  • Session 3 – Food as nourishment, not numbers. Begin to build an alternative relationship with food by demystifying the body’s response to restriction and energy use

These workshops will explore the value of emotions. Learning how to tolerate uncomfortable feelings without reaching for food is a skill. 

Included are:

  • Session 1 – Identifying and tolerating emotions
  • Session  2 – Alternative coping strategies for managing emotions
  • Session  3 – Mindful eating vs mindless eating

These workshops will help you begin to gain clarity on negative thought patterns which promote unhelpful food-related behaviours and identify self-critical thinking traps.

  • Session 1 – How to identify, challenge and restructure your thinking
  • Session 2 – How your negative self-talk impacts yourself and your relationship with others
  • Session 3 – Re-aligning your values with your life goals

These workshops will focus on your relationship with your body, your weight and exercise, realistic goal setting, and getting through the slow times.

  • Session 1 – Ineffectiveness of dieting and how this sets you up for weight gain
  • Session 2 – Addressing concerns about your weight and shape
  • Session 3 – Indentifying and eliminating behaviours which maintain a negative body image

Lapses are an expected part of any behaviour change.  These workshops illustrate how to use lapses effectively.

  • Session 1 – Identifying triggers to lapses and refining coping skills
  • Session 2 – Developing alternative problem solving skills
  • Session 3 – Creating your blueprint for success
  • You have been eating excessively / emotionally for period over at least the last 3 months
  • You feel distressed by the amounts you are currently eating
  • Your eating feels out of control
  • You experience uncontrollable urges to eat
  • You have been eating even though not hungry
  • You have felt ashamed and guilty after eating large quantities of food
  • Tried everything else with no sustainable changes made
  • You make yourself sick / overexercise / use laxatives/ use diuretics
  • You are losing weight rapidly
  • You are looking for a weight loss solution
  • You are significantly restricting your food intake
  • You are experiencing additional untreated mental health difficulties which are impacting your daily life
